Welcome to the Channah Website

If you or someone you care about is having problems with drug or alcohol abuse you are probably wondering what to do. Most rehabilitation programmes require a commitment of 12 weeks or more and it may not be practical to take that long out of your life to attend a rehab programme, especially if you have a demanding career or children. Also you may not want your problems to become common knowledge. We offer a discreet, and shorter, alternative.

Set in a lush tropical paradise on the banks of the River Kwai, Channah offers you a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) programme unlike anything available elsewhere in the world, and tailored to your needs.

Combining the best elements of 6 and 12 week CBT programmes you now have the opportunity to take a 28 day ‘holiday’ whilst undergoing a rehabilitation programme. This allows you to keep your rehabilitation a private matter, if you wish, without compromising the quality or depth of the programme.

Should you find even 28 days too much our course is designed in one week modules making it possible for you to spend one or two weeks dealing with certain areas that are causing you problems. You can talk to our referral team who will help you decide which modules will be most useful to you.

When you return home you will still have a full three month aftercare package to support you in those crucial early days.

Length of stay in treatment is a recognized measure of success and continued sobriety.
Channah's treatment completion rate since opening is 96%, thus ranking the centre among the best in the world. We have managed this success rate by being in a remote location, making our facilities as comfortable as possible and treating each client as a unique individual with dignity and respect.

This is not an alcoholics anonymous, AA, narcotics anonymous, or NA programme but we do acknowledge the benefits of 12 step programmes for some people. CBT is an alternative that doesn’t require a life long commitment. We believe you have it in you, if given the appropriate tools to change. If you wish to use the fellowship as part of your aftercare we will work with you to achieve this.

From a parent of a client
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the rest of your wonderful team, for the special attention they gave ********.  I believe that for the first time in ******** young life, he felt safe to share his feelings without reservation.  Your approach to treat him as a friend rather than a patient made a tremendous difference.  Thank you.
