Christmas in Rehab
Nov. 28, 2009
Christmas in rehab can be difficult you might be missing your family and friends. Many times it is the only time in a year when families get together. With many expatriates living in Asia, Christmas time is a time of travel back to their home countries or have their family come this way. Also if you live in your home country, travelling to Thailand for rehab might not be on your priority list since it is a long ways from home. With the difficulties faced coming to rehab over the holidays a quality rehabilitation centre will make it as comfortable as possible. Last year we exchanged gifts, had turkey with all the trimmings, and a general celebration. Christmas in rehab can be difficult, but it doesn’t have to be dismal. Also sitting at the bottom of Erawan Waterfall with a temperature of 27 deg C or 81 deg F While it is below freezing back home does have a certain appeal.
Drug Rehabilitation Center
Nov. 22, 2009
What happens at a drug rehabilitation center? This is a question I am regularly asked. It is actually not as easy to answer as you would think, since each person at a drug rehabilitation center is going to have different needs, it is going to be different for each individual. There are of course some similarities for the average person. The first thing that will happen at a drug rehabilitation center like Channah is your needs will be assessed and a treatment plan will be put into place. You might require a detox first; this would include possibly weaning you off of the drug you are on or switching you to an alternate legal medication. Everyone coming to a drug rehabilitation center however will have to explore their reasons for using drugs in the first place, and develop now coping skills for a life without dugs and alcohol. The goal of a drug rehabilitation center like Channah is to get you clean and give you the tools to stay clean once you return to your normal day to day life.
Alcohol Detox Asia
Nov 18, 2009
There are a number of places to do an alcohol detox in Asia. Most if not all hospitals are more then capable of handling this procedure. However a hospital is not always necessary for alcohol detox. Most people will be fine in a controlled environment without access to alcohol while undergoing their detox. Also hospital detox with no rehabilitation is rarely successful and most people going through this procedure very quickly return to their prior drinking behavior. If you have been checked into a hospital for a detox, chances are you have some serious issues with substance abuse that need addressing, staying in a hospital bed for 3 or 4 days will not solve this. If you need to detox from alcohol think of coming to Channah for a solution to the problem instead of just a few day dry out. Under medical supervision you will be safely detoxed from alcohol and then can learn new tools to deal with your life without the need for drink and drugs.

Drug Rehab Asia
Nov. 15, 2009
When looking for a drug rehabilitation centre in Asia you will find very few choices if you are looking for a private centre with similar treatment standard as you would expect in the West. As far as we are aware there is no private drug rehab in Singapore, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, or Vietnam that are up to the standards you would expect in your home country. To fill this void Channah Thailand was established as the first and still, the leading drug and alcohol treatment centre for English speaking clients in Asia. When in need of a full service drug or alcohol abuse treatment centre in Asia, think of Channah as your first and best choice.

Drug Rehab for Couples
Nov. 5, 2009
Channah Thailand is one of the few centres in the world willing to accept couples into rehab at the same time. If both partners are experiencing drug or alcohol dependency and wish to attend the programme together this can be arranged and under special circumstance will be allowed. We are able to do this since we take a much more individualize approach to clients needs and work with them to discover what their best chance of success will be. This is only done on a case by case basis after a phone interview with both people.
Individualized addition treatment
Nov. 1, 2009
Individualized drug or alcohol addiction treatment. should not be just a luxury, it is essential for effective recovery from substance abuse. Group therapy is important and very useful, just as important is dealing with your individual issues in a confidential, private manner with someone you can trust. There may be issues and circumstances that need to be dealt with that you just do not want to bring up in a group therapy session. This is where one to one’s are useful. During one to one therapy sessions with a qualified addition therapist you can work through issues and problems in your life in a confidential, private setting. At Channah we have a large focus on one to one therapy in our drug and alcohol rehabilitation programme.
