Couples in
Rehab
There is a
continuing crisis within partnerships with the statistical average of forty per
cent of marriages now ending in divorce. This is much exacerbated when one or
both partners are using drugs or alcohol or are suffering from other disorders.
At the heart of this conflict are 7 areas that have been identified. CBT works
to improve these in relationship counselling: -
· Communication
· Empathy (understanding)
· Intimacy (closeness)
· Expressed affection
· Trust
· Acceptance
· Forgiveness
Channah Thailand is one of the few centres
in the world that will accept couples, we have programmes available when both partners are misusing drugs or alcohol or when just one is. We are ideally
placed to offer a supportive environment for couples to work together or just
support each other during the programme.
There is however some very special
considerations that must be considered before we will allow couples to attend
the substance abuse programme together.
We offer a tailored package for partners,
which is optional. Partners can use all the facilities of the Centre and are
encouraged to join several sessions including:
Water Workout
Body Renew
Weekly Excursions
Personal Training
We also offer partners:
1:1 Counselling
Living with Recovery Sessions
Couples Counselling
Art Therapy
Personal Skills Sessions
Partners Support Group
Extra Excursions
2-3 Day Bangkok Shopping Trip
Spa Treatments
Partners can be involved as little or as
much as they want in the programme. If you have individual needs which are not
covered we would be pleased to discuss this with you and, if possible,
facilitate this.
From the mother of a client (both mother and daughter
spent 28 days with us)
"With the small groups,
I felt assured that ******* would receive undivided care and attention. After a
few sessions, I felt a huge burden lifted as I realized that my daughter was in
good hands."
