 Drug & Alcohol Awareness Programme
Children, adolescents, and
young adults need to be educated about tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs in
order to make safe decisions. We can help teach your students about smoking,
substance abuse prevention, and health and wellness.
Depending on the needs of your school or
organization we will develop a custom educational programme targeted at
empowering your students to make healthy decisions as well as educating your
students about the harms and effects of drug and alcohol abuse. This can be done
in a multicultural environment. We generally prefer to work with small groups
as we feel it is more effective and encourages a two way dialog from the
students or educators. Lectures to larger groups are also possible.
The lessons build students' resistance to
influences that encourage drug abuse and they promote safe, healthy, and
responsible attitudes while correcting mistaken beliefs and assumptions about
drugs and alcohol.
Our highly qualified staff are also available to
conduct training on recognizing problems or potential problems to educators and
staff so that an early proactive approach can be taken when a teacher or
counselor sees a potential problem developing.
The figures are alarming when you read that
approximately one-half of all high school seniors in the U.S. admit to having
used alcohol or an illegal drug. Substance abuse in this age group increases the
risk of involvement in crime, high-risk sexual behavior, accidents, and
injuries. Teens that use alcohol and drugs are more likely to have poor school
performance and have higher dropout rates.
The statistics are generally unavailable in Asia
we don’t see any reason they wouldn’t be similar to other areas.
We can offer these services in English and Thai at
the present time. |
